EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, information systems, project management, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Three or more years of progressively responsible project management experience, preferably involving IT systems, cloud or SaaS implementations, or multi-stakeholder government projects.
Job Description:
The Department of Business & Industry is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the implementation of two SaaS solutions for our Divisions of Industrial Relations (DIR) and the Financial Institutions Division (FID). The DIR project will be implementing an application to replace legacy platforms and streamline services for the Mechanical Compliance Section) MCS and the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The system will support permitting, licensing, inspection, citation, and case management processes, including online payment capability. The FID project will be to implement a new license management, examination, and enforcement system that will replace their current legacy system and add needed enhancements to their processes and workflows.
Required Skills:
Project Leadership
- Serve as the lead project manager for SaaS solution implementation projects across Division of Industrial Relations and Financial Institutions Divisions.
- Plan, organize, and direct project activities following PMBOK and State project management standards.
- Lead project meetings, facilitate decision-making, and ensure stakeholder alignment on goals, scope, and timelines.
- Establish clear project objectives and performance measures.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, timelines, and work plans.
- Identify, analyze, and sequence project tasks; develop critical paths; continuously monitor progress.
- Coordinate business process reviews, requirements gathering, and fit-gap analysis with stakeholders.
- Track deliverables to ensure completion and alignment with Division objectives and vendor commitments.
Resource & Vendor Management
- Coordinate project resources across both Divisions, enterprise IT, and vendor teams.
- Justify and request additional resources when needed.
- Manage vendor relationships including contract interpretation, scope control, and deliverable validation.
- Facilitate issue resolution with vendors, escalating when necessary.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks.
- Facilitate issue resolution and maintain logs to ensure transparent communication.
- Manage change-control processes for scope, schedule, and resource adjustments.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as a primary liaison for project communications between DIR, FID, B&I administration, enterprise IT, and external vendors.
- Coordinate project activities with other work units inside and outside the organization as assigned.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing, training coordination, and readiness activities.
Documentation & Reporting
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including requirements, process flows, risks, decisions, and communications.
- Provide regular status reports to leadership, stakeholder groups, and governance entities.
- Ensure records meet audit, security, and compliance standards.
