Position Summary:
CVS Health is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior FinOps Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing cloud financial operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the organization achieves maximum value from its cloud investments. As a Senior FinOps Engineer, you will bridge the gap between finance, engineering, and operations, playing a key role in driving cost efficiency, transparency, and accountability across our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and monitor cloud spend across multiple platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop and implement best practices for cloud cost management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align cloud usage with business objectives and financial targets
  • Automate cloud cost reporting and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain governance policies related to cloud usage and spend
  • Advocate for financial accountability within engineering and product teams through education and process improvements
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud pricing models, tools, and industry trends
  • Support cloud migration and transformation projects with a focus on financial impact and ROI

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience managing cloud spend and cost optimization in large-scale environments
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud cost management tools (e.g., Cloudability, Apptio One, native cloud vendor tools)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their billing/pricing structures
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of technology practices and CI/CD pipelines

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
