Role .Net Developer + AI experience
Fully remote opportunity.
6+ months Contract with potential to hire.
W2 role
Role Overview
This is an updated version of a role we previously filled over a year ago. The core tech stack remains .NET/C#, Angular, and SQL Server, but the role has evolved in two significant ways:
AI Integration The team is now exploring how AI tools (specifically Claude or similar LLMs) can fit into their workflows. They're developing features and functionality related to Claude this means building integrations, prompt engineering workflows, or AI-assisted features within their applications.
Legacy Modernization A major focus is converting legacy Windows desktop applications to modern web applications. This means there could be a fair amount of UI/frontend work, which is a shift from the previous role that was ~95% backend. Business Context
Product: Primary web application is called Clarity
Users: ~4,000 5,000 users across hospitals and pharmacies
Domain: Healthcare tied to 340B drug pricing and pharmacy-related workflows
Architecture Migration: Moving from MVC (Model-View-Controller) to a Web API framework this means decoupling the frontend from the backend, shifting toward a more modern, API-driven architecture
The previous plan to build out Web APIs and microservices hasn't fully come to fruition yet, so this hire will likely help drive that transition
This work will primarily focus on maintaining, enhancing, and refactoring code vs net new development
Tech Stack & Responsibilities
Area | Details |
Backend | .NET / C# maintain, enhance, and convert legacy apps |
Frontend | Angular (open to other JS frameworks like React or Vue) |
Database | SQL Server strong SQL skills still critical (stored procedures, data-heavy work) |
Architecture | MVC Web API migration; API development |
AI/Emerging | Claude or similar AI tools exploring where AI fits into their product/processes |
Source Control | Git |
Deployment | Homegrown process; basic CI/CD knowledge expected |
Testing | Devs own unit testing before handoff to QA team |
Seniority Level
High-mid to low Senior This is not a principal or staff-level role. Think someone with 5 8+ years of experience who can work independently, contribute to architectural decisions (especially around the MVC Web API migration and AI integration), but doesn't need to be the most senior person in the room.
Must-Haves (Updated)
.NET / C# development strong backend fundamentals
Angular or modern JavaScript framework experience
SQL Server fluent in advanced SQL (stored procedures, complex queries)
API / Web API development understanding of RESTful API design and architecture
Experience with or strong interest in AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) doesn't need to be an AI engineer, but should understand how to integrate and leverage LLMs in application development
Nice-to-Haves
Healthcare or 340B experience
Legacy modernization experience migrating Windows desktop or MVC apps to modern web
Microservices architecture knowledge
MVC Web API migration experience specifically
Interview Process
Includes pseudo code exercises candidates should be comfortable whiteboarding or writing logic on the fly (not a full coding test, but they need to demonstrate problem-solving and coding fundamentals)
In compliance with the salary transparency law, the expected pay range for this role is $60 $65/hr. Actual compensation depends on experience and interview evaluation.
