Position Summary
The Senior Software Development Engineer Microservices will be responsible for the development and support of Retail Store related APIs and back-end services. The right candidate will play a key role in the analysis, design, build, and post-deployment support of all back-end solutions, including batch processing and Change Data Capture (CDC) synchronization. In this role, the Senior Software Development Engineer Microservices will work closely and collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, IT Development staff, and other partners in the development and delivery of Loyalty & Retail Store business solutions. The Senior Software Development Engineer Microservices will utilize knowledge in Java and Python and can deliver assignments throughout the stages of project lifecycles. This will include development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Cloud Native technologies, as well as experience utilizing Kubernetes, OpenShift, GKE, and various database technologies including PostgreSQL, Oracle, Teradata, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience designing Enterprise back-end applications, Interface Design, Data Dictionary, Object-oriented concepts (Java / J2EE)
  • 5+ years of experience in Java, J2EE Design Patterns, Object-Oriented design, Cloud Native development, and code optimizations
  • 5+ years of experience in building and consuming stateless Microservices using Spring Boot and deploying within PaaS/Cloud platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift, and GKE
  • 5+ years of experience in integration layer development: RESTful APIs/Spring/Kafka/GQL
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Teradata
  • 3+ years of experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra
  • 3+ years of experience in Python development for back-end services and data processing
  • 3+ years of experience in AI prompt engineering, including the design and implementation of AI-driven solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in batch development processes and tools
  • 3+ years of experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases including Oracle, Teradata, Postgres
  • 3+ years of experience with NoSQL like Mongo, Cassandra
  • 5+ years of Agile SDLC methodology, Continuous integration experience, code test coverage, security compliance and source control using Maven, Jenkins, GIT

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
