Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner with deep expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) to lead a large-scale, enterprise digital commerce platform. This highly visible role requires a hands-on product leader who can own platform strategy, roadmap, production reliability, integrations, and release management for a mission-critical eCommerce ecosystem supporting high transaction volumes.

The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership experience with technical depth in SAP Commerce Cloud, Java-based enterprise applications, production support, platform modernization, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Roadmap Management

• Own and prioritize a large-scale backlog within Azure DevOps.
• Define and maintain product roadmaps across Epics, Features, Stories, Enablers, and Defects.
• Lead PI Planning, sprint planning, and SAFe-based delivery activities.
• Balance business initiatives, platform stability, compliance, technical debt, and modernization efforts.
• Maintain product documentation, architecture decisions, and operational runbooks.

Production Operations & Incident Management

• Analyze production incidents using application logs, monitoring tools, traces, and database performance insights.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with engineering teams on remediation planning and prioritization.
• Monitor platform health, availability, performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Provide leadership reporting on operational metrics and platform performance.

Release & Deployment Governance

• Lead release readiness reviews and risk assessments.
• Coordinate deployment planning, validation testing, rollback strategies, and production releases.
• Own Go/No-Go decisions in partnership with engineering and business stakeholders.
• Validate post-release success through monitoring and production telemetry.

Integration & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Manage API lifecycle governance and integration dependencies.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, infrastructure, SRE, QA, finance, and business teams.
• Coordinate with external vendors and technology partners.
• Ensure platform changes maintain backward compatibility and operational stability.

Platform Modernization & Engineering Enablement

• Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Support AI-assisted development and engineering productivity programs.
• Promote observability, monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement practices.
• Contribute to platform migration and modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Technical Program Management, or Software Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience owning a commerce, digital platform, or enterprise application domain end-to-end.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) including:
  • OCC APIs
  • ImpEx
  • Cron Jobs
  • Business Processes
  • Service and Facade Layers
  • CCv2 Architecture
  • Data Modeling and Type System
• Ability to read and understand:
  • Java code
  • Spring configurations
  • SQL queries and execution plans
  • Distributed tracing and application logs
• Experience leading Sev1/Sev2 incident response and RCA activities.
• Strong knowledge of Agile and SAFe methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps including Boards, Pipelines, Queries, and Wiki.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail, grocery, omnichannel commerce, or payments industry experience.
• Experience supporting regulated payment environments and digital checkout systems.
• OMS and fulfillment integration experience.
• Knowledge of Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Redis caching and distributed systems.
• Azure SQL performance tuning and optimization experience.
• OpenTelemetry and modern observability practices.
• Large-scale platform migration or modernization experience.
• AI-assisted engineering workflow experience.
• Experience with LaunchDarkly, k6, and JMeter.
