Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform data maintenance activities for mastered records, including addressing data quality issues and processing data requests with guidance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the development and ongoing maintenance of the global data catalog and business glossary, building familiarity with data definitions and standards.
  • Assist in learning, applying, and maintaining global data standards, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely with team members and cross-functional partners to support process improvements and gain understanding of how data changes impact systems and downstream processes.
  • Contribute to the creation and updates of global master data standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, while developing knowledge of data governance best practices and industry standards.
  • Identify, document, and escalate data quality issues and opportunities for improvement, while building skills in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Support efforts to improve data flow and data quality to enhance data accuracy, usability, and business value.
  • Follow established data management workflows for data entry, validation, and approvals, learning stakeholder roles and requirements to ensure proper coordination.
  • Develop an understanding of approval processes and data governance controls to help maintain data integrity while supporting operational needs.
  • Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities to build knowledge of master data management, systems, and tools.
  • Adhere to the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and all physical and digital security practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, with a focus on gaining experience and expanding capabilities.

Qualifications

  • University degree (Bachelor's) in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Foundational understanding of data management concepts, including data quality and basic data governance principles, with a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
  • Exposure to data tools (e.g., Informatica or similar platforms) preferred; willingness to learn new systems and technologies required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical team members while developing an understanding of stakeholder data needs.
  • Strong willingness to learn how to support alignment to data standards and follow established processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance, delivering accurate work within established timelines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on building foundational professional skills.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and ability to work both independently (with direction) and as part of a team.

    Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $56,400 to $70,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), Holidays (9 days), Personal days (3 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
