Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Developer Product Owner (DPO) with 6+ years of IT experience to support a large-scale Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Auto Insurance, Guidewire PolicyCenter, and Agile product ownership. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and development teams to define, analyze, and document business requirements while maintaining a prioritized development backlog.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of IT experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • 6+ years of experience working with Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, with a strong focus on Auto Insurance.
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Strong experience eliciting, documenting, and refining business and technical requirements.
  • Experience analyzing existing business rules and translating them into functional requirements.
  • Proven ability to write acceptance criteria for features and user stories.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Required Technical Skills

  • Guidewire PolicyCenter
  • Jira (including Jira Work Management)
  • Rally
  • Working knowledge of Policy Administration Systems (PAS)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Research existing application functionality and business rules to support ongoing product enhancements.
  • Translate business capabilities into epics, features, user stories, and detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Build, prioritize, and maintain a healthy product backlog for development teams.
  • Identify dependencies across multiple teams and coordinate delivery efforts.
  • Work closely with developers throughout the development lifecycle to clarify requirements and support implementation.
  • Document current-state and future-state business processes.
  • Evaluate business process improvements and help define ROI for proposed initiatives.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirement clarification sessions.
  • Ensure requirements align with business objectives and modernization goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale insurance system modernization or policy conversion initiatives.
  • Familiarity with existing P&C policy administration processes.
  • Experience working within enterprise Agile environments.
  • Previous experience supporting Auto Insurance product implementations or conversions.
