About the Role:

The Land team is seeking a full-time Lead Software Engineer to architect and maintain new systems, and drive improvements to existing systems and processes. As an ideal candidate, you will have multiple years of experience developing and maintaining highly performant web applications that will be beneficial in driving the growth of our Land business unit. To be successful in this role you must be a problem-solving, collaborative person with deep technical skills, and the ability to work in a secure, performant, enterprise-scale environment.

This position is located in Austin, TX and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in the office and the option to work from home on Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve existing systems
  • Develop and maintain database design and SQL scripts
  • Work in partnership with Product and Technology leadership to deeply understand a project's complex functional requirements and drive implementation of appropriate technical solutions
  • Analyze technical requirements to design/improve architecture, systems, services, and components to meet functional, performance and availability requirements.
  • Apply software design patterns, sound quality management methods, tools, and techniques to create and support defect-free application software that meets the needs of the organization with high reusability and maintainability
  • Drive and evangelize architectural principles and guidelines to ensure high quality, consistent results across teams.
  • Leverage AI-Assisted development tool to accelerate implementation, refactoring, and test creation, while ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability through strong engineering judgment.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • 8+ years of development experience in production environment
  • Expert-level knowledge of systems using C#, .NET Development
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience using SQL
  • Experience with software testing (Unit, Integration, Functional, Performance)
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Microsoft CoPilot or similar) to improve developer productivity
  • Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas within and across teams
  • Ability to work well with other developers and management
  • Ability to juggle priorities and work with minimal supervision or assistance to complete tasks


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Visual Studio, SSMS, and Azure DevOps or Git
  • Experience with AWS and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
  • Experience architecting systems using C#, .NET Development
  • Experience establishing software development best practices, including standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing and operations.
