Fire Alarm TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced
Fire Alarm Technician in the Nashville area. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm systems, while serving as a technical leader on-site.
The candidate should bring strong expertise in fire alarm systems along with additional exposure to low-voltage technologies such as access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems. This role requires a high level of professionalism, technical accuracy, and teamwork to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities- Program, start up, troubleshoot, and commission new system installations
- Perform point-to-point troubleshooting on fire alarm and low-voltage systems
- Communicate clearly with project leadership and clients regarding status, challenges, and timelines
- Assist with system installations and ensure project success under leadership direction
- Identify and escalate installation or system issues to the project lead
- Review contract and design documents for accuracy prior to system installation
- Conduct inspections to ensure systems meet code and operational standards
- Complete detailed project documentation and reports
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication with team members and clients
- Ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of customer requirements
- Be available for varying shifts and participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Maintain consistent, reliable on-site attendance during business hours and as required
Required Skills & Qualifications- Expert-level experience with fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems including:
- Access Control
- CCTV
- Nurse Call Systems
- Intercom Systems
- Strong technical aptitude and computer proficiency
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system documentation
- Experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multi-meter)
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Physical Requirements- Ability to use lifts for elevated work beyond ladder limitations
- Ability to safely carry and climb an 8-foot or taller ladder
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
