Role Overview
We are seeking an Onshore Database Developer to contribute to a significant MCL Upgrade project. This role focuses on Oracle SQL/PLSQL development, automation testing, and ETL/database testing. The position requires a candidate with strong technical skills in database development and quality assurance to ensure the performance, reliability, and integrity of our database systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop complex queries, stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues through SQL tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Create and maintain database objects, including tables, views, indexes, sequences, and materialized views.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Execute test plans, design test cases, track defects, and manage the test execution process.
- Perform ETL and database testing, including data validation, data reconciliation, and source-to-target mapping verification.
- Validate ETL processes, data transformations, and data integrity across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with business, development, and QA teams within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development and performance tuning.
- 3+ years of experience in automation testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- 3+ years of experience in ETL and database testing, including data validation and reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and Oracle database architecture.
- Experience with test planning, test case design, and defect tracking.
- Proficiency in backend testing using SQL queries on large datasets.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or SSIS.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI, or REST Assured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of data migration, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to meet project timelines.
