Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Check Point Firewall Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Check Point firewalls R80.x environments to support enterprise network security operations in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will be responsible for firewall administration, policy management, VPN configurations, troubleshooting, and ensuring the security and availability of enterprise infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and support Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (R80.x) in enterprise environments.
Manage security policies, NAT rules, access controls, and firewall rule optimization.
Perform firewall upgrades, migrations, patches, and firmware updates for Check Point appliances.
Configure and troubleshoot Site-to-Site VPNs and remote access VPN solutions.
Monitor firewall performance, logs, and security events using SmartConsole and SmartView tools.
Implement and maintain Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), URL filtering, Anti-Bot, and Threat Prevention features.
Analyze and resolve network connectivity and security-related issues.
Work with networking teams on routing, switching, and network segmentation initiatives.
Conduct firewall audits, rule recertification, and compliance checks.
Support incident response and security investigations related to firewall events.
Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to improve enterprise security posture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience with Check Point Firewalls (R80.x).
Strong expertise in:
SmartConsole
Security Policy Management
NAT Configuration
VPN Technologies
IPS & Threat Prevention
Firewall Rule Optimization
Experience with Check Point Gaia OS administration.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network protocols.
Experience troubleshooting enterprise network and security issues.
Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.
Experience with high availability and clustering configurations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
