One of our clients is looking for a Mainframe Developer-Onsite Please find below the details of the position.
Title: Mainframe Developer
Location: NYC-Onsite
Primary Skill: CICS, VSAM, DB
Job Duration: 3-6 Months
Job Description:
- Possess 6 – 8 years strong Hands on Experience in Mainframe development with CICS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, Control-M, Stored Procedures and basic IBM utilities
- Knowledge on developing/enhancing applications involving CICS with exposure on MQ series is must
- Responsible for development and implementation of applications using Mainframe technologies and also should be responsible for Build, deployment and Support of the application.
- The identified resource will need to be in constant verbal and written contact with key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance to standards and best practices for development including change management, release management, & source code control.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge on ITIL Process6 to 8 years of experience in developing, supporting and maintaining applications
- Troubleshooting Knowledge and problem-solving techniques
- Financial domain experience is a plus
- Drive reliability and performance by defining SLOs/SLIs, improving observability, and proactively identifying and addressing system bottlenecks across cloud environments.
- Automate infrastructure and operations using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools to eliminate toil and enable scalable, fault-tolerant deployments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to reduce incidents, build resilient services, and ensure architectural clarity.
- Lead incident management by participating in on-call rotations, conducting postmortems, and implementing automated recovery to minimize downtime.
- Build and maintain monitoring systems with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Splunk to support real-time alerting and root cause analysis.
- Develop platform tooling and pipelines for container orchestration, third-party integrations, and cloud-native operations to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Mentor engineers and champion SRE best practices, embedding a reliability-first culture and ensuring technical excellence across engineering teams.
- CICS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, Control-M, Stored Procedures and basic IBM utilities exposure on MQ series
