Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Software Engineer to support the development of advanced training and simulation solutions for complex mission environments. This role will focus on designing and developing modern web-based user interfaces that support simulation-driven training systems utilizing a combination of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front-end application development, experience working throughout the software development lifecycle, and a passion for building intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that support mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain web-based front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and technologies.
- Support the development of user-facing applications that interface with complex simulation, training, and distributed systems environments.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software development activities throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and end users to gather requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
- Develop and enhance graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that improve usability and operational effectiveness.
- Integrate front-end applications with backend services, simulation platforms, and enterprise software systems.
- Troubleshoot software defects, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare technical documentation, operating instructions, and development artifacts.
- Apply established software engineering standards, processes, tools, and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and product quality.
- Support the integration of emerging technologies and development tools into existing applications and workflows.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 9+ years of professional software development experience with a Bachelor''s degree, or 7+ years with a Master''s degree.
- Experience developing applications across the full software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following technologies:
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- Angular
- Java
- Experience using GitLab or comparable source control and CI/CD platforms.
- Experience developing software in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, debugging techniques, and application testing methodologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience designing and developing GUI-based applications.
- Experience working with simulation, modeling, or training systems.
- Familiarity with live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) environments.
- Knowledge of distributed systems architecture.
- Experience with Python development.
- Experience learning and adopting new technologies, frameworks, and development tools.
- Experience integrating modern technologies into established software programs to improve efficiency and performance.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
