Hybrid two weeks onsite a month in Durham, NC

We are seeking a Software Engineer to deliver data-driven reporting and intuitive user interfaces using Power BI and Angular. The role will collaborate with technical leaders to define and implement reporting and UI strategies. The engineer will build scalable dashboards, secure data models, and performant front-end applications. The work will require independent execution and adherence to quality practices. We are seeking an ideal candidate who holds extensive experience in both Power BI development and UI development using Angular. This role requires a deep understanding of data visualization, UI/UX design, and integration with enterprise systems.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $57.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models with secure access controls.
  • Implement DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and row-level security.
  • Embed Power BI content within applications and integrate with enterprise systems.
  • Build Angular applications with TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 focused on responsive, accessible UI.
  • Integrate front-end features with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Optimize SQL queries and collaborate on data models using relational databases.

Core Skills:
  • Power BI Development:
    • Design and develop dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI.
    • Utilize DAX and Power Query to create complex calculations and data transformations.
    • Implement row-level security to ensure data privacy and compliance.
    • Integrate Power BI with enterprise systems and embed reports in applications.
  • UI Development (Angular):
    • Develop and maintain web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
    • Ensure responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimization.
    • Integrate UI components with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • General Technical Skills:
    • Work with relational databases such as Snowflake, Oracle, or similar, and optimize SQL queries.
    • Use Git and branching strategies for version control.
    • Follow best practices for testing (unit and integration) and conduct code reviews.
    • Participate in CI/CD pipelines and use DevOps tools for automated deployments.


Experience Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in building dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and implementing row-level security.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise systems and embedding reports in applications.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Experience integrating UI with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (Snowflake, Oracle, or similar) and SQL optimization.
  • Familiarity with Git and branching strategies for version control.
  • Adherence to best practices for testing (unit and integration) and code reviews.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools for automated deployments.


Education Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
