Position Overview
This leadership role is responsible for managing commercial sales activities across North America for a global manufacturing organization. The Sales Manager will own a portfolio of strategic customers representing significant annual revenue and will play a critical role in driving profitable growth, portfolio optimization, and maintaining trusted client relationships.
The position requires a commercially sophisticated sales professional with experience managing complex B2B accounts, effectively navigating industrial supply chains, and operating within global commodity markets.
While primary accountability is regional, the role requires strong awareness of global market dynamics, trade conditions, and cross-border supply chain considerations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage a portfolio of regional and multinational customer accounts with individual and aggregate revenue responsibility reaching tens to hundreds of millions annually.
- Lead commercial strategy for customers operating in fiber-based product segments.
- Develop and drive profitable growth through volume optimization, pricing discipline, mix management, and customer portfolio alignment.
- Develop and execute account strategies that support forecasting accuracy, revenue growth, margin improvement, inventory efficiency, and receivables performance.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities while protecting and strengthening existing customer relationships.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including supply chain, manufacturing, product management, marketing, sustainability, innovation, technical service, and finance.
- Act as a commercial interface between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on service levels, supply continuity, and value creation initiatives.
- Partner with customers to support their competitive positioning and operational success within their respective markets.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry dynamics, translating insights into actionable commercial strategies.
- Provide timely market intelligence and demand forecasts to support production planning and business decision-making.
- Manage customer credit exposure and risk in partnership with internal credit and finance teams.
- Support resolution of customer issues including service concerns, claims, and commercial disputes.
Requirements Include:
- Minimum 5 years of B2B commercial experience in industrial, materials, commodities, or manufacturing-adjacent markets.
- Experience selling into large-scale converters, manufacturers, or branded product companies preferred.
- Familiarity with cellulose fibers, pulp, fluff, or adjacent-based products preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated understanding of supply chain operations including sourcing, manufacturing, transportation, storage, and associated economics.
- Proven ability to manage complex negotiations, long-term contracts, and multi-stakeholder commercial relationships.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global business environment with cultural awareness and adaptability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior leaders, cross-functional stakeholders, strategic partners, and external executives.

- Target Compensation Range: $130k - $140k plus 10% bonus potential
