Job Title: Wireless Automation Architect
Job Location: Santa Clara, CA
Job Type: Contract
Job Overview:
Pay Range: $80hr - $85hr
  • The Wireless Automation Architect is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and automation of wireless network infrastructure.
  • This role focuses on operational excellence, network performance optimization, and implementing automation solutions to improve efficiency.
  • The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production environments and enhance wireless network operations.
Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in wireless site reliability engineering, wireless network operations, or related fields.
  • Strong experience in network operations and wireless infrastructure management.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the operational aspects of wireless infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Partner with architecture, tooling, and deployment teams to ensure new implementations align with production standards.
  • Implement automation solutions to reduce operational effort and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor network performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement enhancements and resolve production issues.
  • Educate and support network teams to manage wireless infrastructure effectively.
  • Identify and drive operational improvements to enhance network sustainability and performance.
Skills:
  • Wireless technologies including 802.11ac and 802.11ax.
  • Network security protocols such as WPA, RADIUS, EAP, and 802.1X.
  • WLAN controllers, especially Mist.
  • RF design, site surveys, spectrum analysis, and interference mitigation.
  • Network technologies including TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, VPN, and Layer 2 switching.
  • Programming and scripting using Python, Perl, or Bash.
  • Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, Nautobot, NetBox, and Netdisco.
  • Linux system fundamentals.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Should Have:
  • Experience with automation using SNMP, Syslog, and synthetic monitoring tools.
  • Experience with tools such as UXI, Signal7, or Wyebot.
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Experience with platforms such as Mellanox, Cumulus Linux, Mist Wireless, and Cisco Wireless.
  • Knowledge of WLAN security components such as ISE.
