Position Overview
Seeking an enterprise-grade LabVantage Technical Architect with 5+ years of dedicated LabVantage experience to lead the technical evaluation, architecture, and configuration of laboratory system integrations. This highly specialized role focuses on bridging LabVantage LIMS/LES (v8.8) with Chromatography Data Systems (Empower 3 v3.6.1), implementing complex bi-directional Scientific Data Management System (SDMS) interfaces, and defining hardware layouts to connect simple analytical instruments with minimal data integrity risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Empower 3 Integration Architecture: Evaluate, design, and configure the LabVantage Empower Connector to build seamless, automated data pathways between Empower 3 (v3.6.1) and LabVantage LIMS/LES (v8.8).
* Complex SDMS Integration: Design and implement bi-directional, file-based instrument integrations using LabVantage SDMS, mapping data workflows to support complex analytical laboratory instruments.
* NuGenesis Archiving Strategy: Collaborate with client infrastructure leads to interface instruments with existing NuGenesis instrument data archive solutions, optimizing data transfer steps to mitigate data integrity risks.
* Simple Device Hardware Configuration: Map serial and Ethernet connection pathways, configuring physical hardware terminal servers (e.g., Lantronix) and setting direct instrument parameters (balances, pH meters) to enable automated data capture.
* Techno-Functional Solution Advisory: Evaluate existing lab environments, technical infrastructure, and master data setups to provide architecture recommendations on the best interfacing options.
* Data Integrity & Compliance Assurance: Enforce strict ALCOA+ data integrity rules across all instrument connections, assuring direct, unmodified raw data transfers to support computerized system validation requirements.
Required Skillset
* Experience: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on LabVantage system architecture, technical configuration, and deployment experience.
* Empower Connector Expertise: Proven hands-on technical proficiency configuring LabVantage LIMS to integrate directly with Waters Empower 3 (v3.6.1 or similar) chromatography software layers.
* SDMS & Instrument Interfacing: Strong expertise setting up LabVantage SDMS, executing bi-directional file parsing, and interfacing complex chromatography or spectroscopy instruments.
* Hardware Device Networking: Practical, hands-on familiarity configuring network terminal adapters (such as Lantronix servers) to interface simple RS232/serial laboratory devices with modern TCP/IP networks.
* Analytical Instrument Configuration: Solid understanding of laboratory instrument setup options (data bit rates, parity settings, transmission triggers) across balances, titrators, and laboratory meters.
Preferred Qualifications
* Official LabVantage technical or administrator certification.
* Direct domain exposure working within GxP/regulated life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratories.
