Role Summary:
As a Middleware Operations and Engineering Specialist at Odyssey Infra WTA, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of critical web and application middleware infrastructures. Your role will encompass around-the-clock technical support, collaboration with various stakeholders, and enhancement of systems security and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of middleware infrastructure, ensuring system availability and timely issue resolution to minimize business impact.
- Routinely assess and upgrade system components, manage resource availability, and support the maintenance of runtime environments.
- Conduct systematic performance evaluations to detect and resolve system inefficiencies and capacity issues.
- Adhere to stringent SLAs for incident management, service requests, and changes, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Utilize problem-solving expertise to dissect and permanently rectify root causes of severe disruptions (root cause analysis, RCA).
- Administer and update SSL certificates and their associated system configurations.
- Cooperate with application development teams to facilitate middleware integrations and validate effective functioning post-deployment.
- Administer connection management protocols including JMS, JNDI, JDBC, and oversee their configuration and support.
- Spearhead the connection of middleware to core enterprise services such as databases, LDAP, and single sign-on (SSO) mechanisms.
- Define and enforce user permissions by managing roles, groups, and access protocols.
- Uphold middleware compliance with regulatory standards, executing security improvements and addressing system vulnerabilities.
- Guide and execute middleware system enhancement strategies, including the upgrade and patch application for systems like IBM WebSphere.
- Design and implement thoughtful migrations for existing middleware systems to more advanced or suitable platforms.
- Develop and refine automation processes for system provisioning, monitoring, and resilience, making use of both IBM solutions and open-source technologies.
