Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior PHP Web Applications & Integrations Developer (Software Development Specialist) on behalf of our client in Franklin, TN.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer to build, enhance, and support enterprise web applications and backend integrations in a fully remote environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PHP development, SQL, JavaScript, Python, WordPress, REST APIs, and Linux, with a passion for delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare or insurance is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance, maintain, troubleshoot, and modernize enterprise web applications, WordPress plugins, custom APIs, and internal tools.

• Develop, maintain, and support backend applications using PHP, SQL, and related technologies.

• Design and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, CRUD applications, and administrative portals.

• Optimize SQL queries, improve database performance, and ensure data integrity.

• Develop and maintain RESTful API integrations with internal platforms and third-party systems.

• Integrate external vendor applications while following secure development best practices.

• Support application deployments, upgrades, testing, and ongoing maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.

• Collaborate closely with UI designers, business stakeholders, QA teams, and offshore development teams.

• Coordinate offshore development efforts and provide project status updates.

• Manage user provisioning, system access, and credential administration.

• Maintain technical documentation and track development activities using Jira.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in web application and backend development.

• 5+ years of hands-on PHP development experience.

• 5+ years of SQL development, database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• 5+ years of JavaScript development experience.

• 5+ years of experience with Python or a similar scripting language.

• 5+ years of Linux administration and command-line experience.

• 5+ years of experience supporting WordPress, including custom plugins and integrations.

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.

• Experience building dashboards, reporting solutions, CRUD applications, and administrative interfaces.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• 2–3+ years of experience collaborating with offshore development teams and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Healthcare, Insurance, or other highly regulated industries.

• Understanding of secure application development practices and regulatory compliance standards, including HIPAA.

• Experience working within Agile development environments using Jira.
