Senior Oracle DBA OMS/GIS Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA to support and maintain Oracle OMS and GIS (eSRI-based) environments for a major utility company. This is a critical role involving database performance optimization, spatial data management, and enterprise GIS system support.

Contract Length: 12 months
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Work Setup: Hybrid

Senior Oracle DBA OMS/GIS Responsibilities

Support Oracle OMS and eSRI-based GIS databases across Linux and Windows environments.
Monitor and optimize ArcGIS/ArcFM environments for high performance.
Manage and report on sync jobs, build deployments, and configuration stores.
Perform ongoing database maintenance, including software updates, indexing, compression, and performance tuning.
Maintain version architecture and editing workflows in SDE databases.
Support data replication, synchronization, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump.
Manage ArcGIS Enterprise (10.6.1), including upgrades and migrations.
Design and administer spatial indexes, metadata views, and Oracle partitioning.
Handle server consolidations, backups, and environmental refreshes.
Provide database support to application developers and production teams.

Senior Oracle DBA OMS/GIS Qualifications
Must Have:

3+ years of experience in advanced SQL development and stored procedure creation using Oracle SQL Developer.
Strong experience with Oracle Database Administration in enterprise environments.
Expertise in Oracle Spatial, ArcGIS, ArcFM, and SDE database management.
Proficient in performance monitoring, tuning of OLTP/OLAP systems, and database security compliance (SOX).
Solid understanding of disaster recovery planning and implementation using RMAN and third-party tools.

Nice to Have:

Experience administering and testing enterprise GIS/database projects.
Familiarity with ArcGIS Server, Portal, and hybrid utility systems.
Experience with other databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, and DB2.
