As a Senior Account Consultant, you will manage and advise client accounts for employers regarding their medical, dental, life, and disability benefit plans and programs. • Manage delivery of client timelines and workflow checklists; coordinate account team and vendors to meet milestones.
  • Monitor service quality and resolve escalated issues with carriers/TPAs/vendors and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with client decision-makers, HR/Benefits teams, and C-suite sponsors.

Consulting & Technical Expertise
  • Analyze plan data and present performance, financial/risk reports, and renewal projections.
  • Recommend plan design, funding arrangements (including stop-loss), and vendor solutions aligned with client strategy and trend management.
  • Lead pre-renewal planning, RFP/renewal strategy, vendor negotiations, and final renewal recommendations.

Implementation & Operations
  • Oversee implementation, installation, and enrollment activities; ensure smooth transitions from renewal to execution.
  • Track account revenue and collaborate with Producers on fees/commissions and growth opportunities.

Marketing & Business Development
  • Support RFPs, finalist presentations, and MMA marketing events; represent MMA externally at conferences and community events.
  • Maintain market knowledge and carrier/TPA/vendor relationships and required professional licenses.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Serve as an internal subject-matter expert; coach and mentor account team members and support their development.

What you need to have:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in benefits consulting, account management, or a related client service role within an insurance brokerage or benefits administration environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, COBRA) and regulatory requirements (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA).
  • Proven ability to manage complex accounts, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
  • Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and comfort working with data, billing, and vendor reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with CRM and benefits administration platforms preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Active Texas Life, Accident & Health License.

What makes you stand out:

  • You take ownership and deliver with urgency and precision.
  • You enjoy translating complex technical issues into simple, practical guidance.
  • You are a collaborative teammate who elevates those around you through coaching and clear communication.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and seek opportunities to improve processes and client outcomes.
