AV LeadThis position supports the West Coast territory (west of Colorado). You can sit anywhere west of Colorado, with weekly travel to client sites throughout the region. All travel-related expenses-flights, hotels, and rental cars-are fully covered by the client.
OverviewThe
AV Lead is responsible for leading the installation, maintenance, and service of audio-visual and related low-voltage systems. This role oversees day-to-day technical execution on assigned projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and company quality expectations.
The AV Lead serves as the on-site technical lead, coordinating field technicians, troubleshooting complex issues, and acting as the primary technical point of
contact during installation activities. Projects may include healthcare, education, and simulation environments utilizing our proprietary audiovisual
platform,
SimCapture, which supports healthcare educators across the United States and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee on-site installation, maintenance, and service of AV and low-voltage systems
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership to AV Technicians and subcontractors
- Execute installations involving:
- Audio systems (DSPs, microphones, speakers, amplifiers)
- Video systems (displays, projectors, video distribution)
- PTZ and fixed cameras
- Data communications and networked AV systems
- Paging and mass notification systems
- Structured cabling (CAT6, fiber, terminations, labeling)
- Interpret and execute work based on drawings, schematics, and scopes of work
- Perform system testing, verification, and basic commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field
- Coordinate daily work plans, tool usage, and material needs
- Ensure installations meet safety requirements, code compliance, and industry best practices
- Communicate progress, issues, and scope changes to project management
- Complete required field documentation, including daily reports and punch lists
- Support deployment and integration of SimCapture audiovisual systems in clinical and educational environments
- Interface professionally with clients, end users, and internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial AV or low-voltage installation
- Prior experience in a lead or senior technician role
- Strong knowledge of AV signal flow, cabling standards, and installation practices
- Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, wiring diagrams, and floor plans
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in AV and low-voltage work
- Working knowledge of IP-based AV systems and basic networking concepts
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
Preferred Qualifications- AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification
- Experience in healthcare, simulation labs, or higher-education AV environments
- Familiarity with PTZ cameras, recording systems, and AV-over-IP platforms
- Experience supporting proprietary AV platforms or simulation capture systems

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
