The Property Claims Business Intelligence Analyst analyzes and recommends technical solutions for complex projects to meet the needs of Claims and other impacted business areas. Will be responsible for defining and delivering the BI Strategy and ensure the successful delivery of Business Intelligence Solutions and Executive / Operational dashboards. The BI analyst will be a motivated self-starter building strong relationships with the business, IT and BI teams.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? - Acts as the customer / IT liaison during analysis, requirements definition and design activities; develop and maintain an understanding of the business, business strategies and roadmap; collaborates with business stakeholders to define and document business requirements and with technical staff to develop solution alternatives. Ensure that the project and service delivery teams and the business representatives have a clear expectation of reporting deliverables including priorities and timescales. Ability to set and achieve analytical and project objectives with minimal supervision, exhibit initiative, and motivation. Ensure that current and future reporting service requirements are identified, understood and documented
- Support data processing activities to maintain, enhance, and implement effective and efficient solutions that meet business requirements. Assist in identifying and acquiring relevant data from external sources (e.g., XACT, DXC, Kwikwork) and guiding integration into internal systems as part of corporate initiatives such as system integrations, business acquisitions, and assumptions.
- Participate in data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business requirements. Collaborate with technical teams to clarify data needs and review outputs for quality and accuracy before delivery to customers.
- Provides support for business applications and data access needs, including managing user access to reporting platforms (e.g., DWH) and identifying, researching, and escalating data issues to the appropriate technical teams (e.g., DWH or DB2). Trains others on the use of automated reports and supports knowledge transfer when work is transitioned (e.g., to GCC). Assists in compiling and communicating system or business process changes as needed.

What are the requirements needed for this position? - 4+ years in business intelligence and/or 4+ years of business analysis experience.
- 3+ years of Business Intelligence Metrics & Reporting experience using Power BI
- 3+ years of property & casualty claims insurance experience
- Intermediate knowledge of MS SQL - required for query, profiling and testing
- Requires advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Experience with Data Warehousing/Data Marts.
- Some overnight travel to client or other Assurant offices may be required (
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, or related field.

- Requires the ability to understand a customer's business environment and to provide appropriate solutions.
- Must work with BI team to develop technical solutions and implement on-going business objectives consistent with the organization's data analysis strategy.
- Quality is essential for the data maintained by the incumbent, since it is used by other members of the unit in support of the key enterprise strategy of claims management.
- Effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel to develop efficient specifications that meet customer requirements.
