Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is for a skilled software engineer with 3-5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions within distributed computing ecosystems. The position involves integrating various tools, optimizing platform performance, and providing technical recommendations while ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards. The ideal candidate will leverage strong Python development skills, experience building APIs, and knowledge of Cloud, Containers, and Linux to succeed.
Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain solutions in distributed computing ecosystems
- Integrate various tools and technologies to enhance platform capabilities
- Optimize platform performance and provide technical recommendations
- Utilize strong Python development skills for automation and development
- Build and maintain APIs using frameworks like FastAPI
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise security standards
Requirements: - 3-5 years of experience in a software engineer role
- Deep expertise in Cloudera Hadoop and its ecosystem, including HDFS, YARN, Spark, Impala, and Ranger
- Knowledge of Iceberg and Object Storage (S3, Ozone)
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Containers, and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration
- Strong Python development skills for automation, development and integration with frameworks like FastAPI and GUNICORN
- Proficiency in Python packages such as Spacy, numpy, Pandas, and Polars
- Intermediate to advanced Linux/Unix knowledge, including bash/shell scripting
- Expertise in Big Data technologies, including Hive, HBase, Scala, and PySpark
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms with a preference for AWS, Azure, and Databricks
- Experience with Jupyter environments and integrating ML libraries
- Demonstrable troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
