Lead Technical Writer & Knowledge Management SpecialistDirect HireIrving, TX (Onsite) Responsibilities- Create, maintain, and govern high-quality technical documentation, including system overviews, architecture documentation, APIs, SDKs, and integration guides.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure documentation supports onboarding, troubleshooting, and product adoption initiatives.
- Partner closely with engineering, product, quality, and support teams to ensure documentation remains accurate and up to date with evolving features and releases.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and end users to identify knowledge gaps and improve documentation effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, including templates, taxonomies, version control, and style guidelines.
- Manage documentation and knowledge content within platforms such as SharePoint or comparable content management systems.
- Design and implement a scalable knowledge management approach that integrates documentation, internal wikis, training materials, and support content.
- Define processes to capture and preserve institutional knowledge from subject matter experts, retrospectives, and project reviews.
- Champion a culture of knowledge sharing through best practices, training, and enablement efforts.
- Review and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Implement feedback mechanisms and analytics to continuously improve content discoverability and usefulness.
- Ensure documentation aligns with usability, accessibility, and user experience principles.
- Curate and maintain internal knowledge bases, including onboarding materials, FAQs, and process documentation.
- Support learning and development initiatives by contributing content for workshops, self-service resources, and digital learning platforms.
Requirements- Bachelor s degree in English, Communications, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 7 10 years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or knowledge management roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading documentation initiatives across multiple teams or complex domains.
- Strong understanding of documentation platforms, taxonomy, and content lifecycle management.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor junior writers and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience implementing or scaling enterprise knowledge management systems.
- Background supporting complex, regulated, or platform-based business environments.
- Familiarity with business processes such as transaction workflows, compliance, reporting, and operational systems.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts including APIs, databases, system integrations, cloud-based architectures (Azure preferred), UX principles, accessibility standards, and content analytics.
- Experience with SharePoint, CMS platforms, and digital learning or e-learning tools.
