The Opportunity
This position works out of our Roseville, MN location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management medical device division, supporting the Distribution Center.
The Manufacturing Engineer supports operational excellence by leading process improvement initiatives, analyzing performance data, and implementing solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and customer service. This role collaborates with operations, quality, engineering, and support teams to manage projects, investigate issues, support CAPA and validation activities, develop technical documentation and procedures, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and quality requirements while delivering measurable business results.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is looking to learn more about logistics and continuous improvement, lean methodologies, and operational problem solving. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience leading improvement initiatives, facilitating change across all levels of the organization, and contributing to a safe, compliant, and high-performing distribution environment while building strong technical and leadership capabilities.
What You?ll Work On
Operations and Continuous Improvement
Focus: Project execution, process improvement and operational support.
- Develop and execute work plans to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and timeline objectives.
- Develop and maintain procedures, standards, process controls, and performance metrics.
- Develop project documentation, business cases, and capital expenditure requests.
- Partner with Finance and Operations on budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Analyze processes, equipment, layouts, and workflows to improve performance.
- Support production downtime response and operational problem solving.
- Lead and support operational, engineering, and continuous improvement projects.
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools including DMAIC, A3, SPC, 5S, Gemba, time studies, line balancing, and standard work.
Communication and Collaboration
Focus: Stakeholder engagement, customer service, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Define project scope and requirements with customers and stakeholders.
- Communicate recommendations, project updates, and action plans.
- Set clear expectations and proactively manage risks, issues, and commitments.
- Build strong relationships across functions, customers, vendors, and contractors.
- Influence and align stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and resources across teams.
Quality and Compliance
Focus: Quality systems, regulatory compliance, safety, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, quality system, safety, environmental, and company requirements.
- Identify and mitigate quality, safety, operational, and compliance risks.
- Support validation activities, audits, inspections, and quality programs.
- Lead or support CAPA, investigations, root cause analysis, and effectiveness checks.
- Partner with EHS to maintain a safe work environment and strong safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree ( 13 years)
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in regulated manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or related environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred; Green Belt a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience analyzing large data sets and presenting findings to support business decisions.
