Job Description:

About the Role. The Process Engineer will serve as a critical link between our long-tenured operational teams and our technology group during key system enhancement initiatives. This on-site role requires an individual who excels at understanding deeply established business processes, is highly skilled in system analysis, and can translate operational and technical needs into clear requirements.

The ideal candidate brings empathy, strong analytical skills, experience with warehouse management and ERP systems, and the ability to respectfully challenge the status quo while enabling meaningful change. This position includes hands-on involvement in troubleshooting, end-user support, and root cause analysis to ensure system stability and ongoing improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage directly with business users across Warehouse, Sales, Finance, and other departments to document existing workflows and system interactions.
  • Perform detailed warehouse management systems (WMS) analysis to understand current configurations, data flows, and impacts of changes across integrated systems.
  • Analyze warehouse management system (WMS) functions to identify opportunities for optimization and improved system utilization.
  • Provide end user support by troubleshooting warehouse management system (WMS) issues, identifying root causes, and coordinating resolution with technical teams.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders through active listening, thoughtful questioning, and clear communication.
  • Serve as a liaison for change management, helping users understand the value of new warehouse management system (WMS) solutions and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including current state and future state process maps, workflow diagrams, system specifications, and functional requirements.
  • Develop basic mockups, flowcharts, or wireframes to visually communicate proposed warehouse management system (WMS) changes.
  • Translate business and system requirements into clear technical specifications and measurable acceptance criteria for development teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert during development to ensure warehouse management system (WMS) solutions align with approved requirements.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by creating test cases, conducting functional testing, and validating system behaviors.
  • Partner with IT and business teams to support warehouse management system (WMS) enhancements, upgrades, and new feature implementations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and complex, established business processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability to perform detailed root cause analysis.
  • Full lifecycle experience from requirements gathering through testing and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly when working with users resistant to change.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and trust across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in system documentation, process mapping, and requirements definition.
  • Ability to create basic UI mockups or prototypes using tools such as PowerPoint, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle) and warehouse management system (WMS) is a plus.
  • Experience in the packaging, manufacturing, or distribution industries is preferred.
