This position will advance the enterprise Zero Trust micro-segmentation program. The role focuses on delivering safe, auditable, and scalable traffic visibility and policy enforcement across hybrid environments. You will ensure operational reliability, policy confidence, and vendor accountability for a SaaS-based segmentation platform at an enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and mature the Illumio micro-segmentation platform, including VEN agent lifecycle management across Windows, Linux, and future AIX workloads.
- Design, validate, and deploy least-privilege segmentation policies, ensuring changes can be verified via traffic telemetry before and after enforcement.
- Analyze traffic flow telemetry and delay metrics to validate platform health, identify regressions, and distinguish policy issues from platform or vendor constraints.
- Lead incident response and vendor escalation with engineering, addressing capacity constraints, SaaS scaling events, and maintenance windows.
- Partner with Network Engineering, application teams, and platform owners to coordinate production changes and policy deployments.
- Maintain and evolve security standards, baselines, and deployment guidance for enterprise micro-segmentation.
- Support large-scale onboarding and migration efforts, including SaaS cutovers and phased policy enforcement.
- Communicate technical risks, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
Technical Skills:- Hands-on experience with Micro-Segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and lateral-movement prevention.
- Experience with Illumio or an equivalent segmentation platform, including VEN agents, SaaS policy engines, and enforcement modes.
- Proficiency with SIEM tools for traffic and telemetry analysis, including time-based analysis, distributions, and baselining.
- Understanding of Linux and Windows server fundamentals, application communication patterns, and network flows.
- Experience with production change management and incident response protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or other comparable security architecture or Zero Trust-focused certifications.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud environments and enterprise IAM concepts like SaaS authentication and RBAC.
- Experience integrating segmentation telemetry into SIEM, data lakes, or automation pipelines.
- Knowledge of policy certification, audit traceability, or regulatory reporting processes.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Rate: $53.00/hr - $57.00/hr.
