Summary:

The Systems Training Analyst assists the Technical Integration Team in supporting US Army training events that involve stimulating Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS).

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Be the technical integration SME for integrating training networks, simulations, and mission command systems for exercises. DELIVERABLE: Integration Checklists & Validation Reports: Step-by-step technical integration guides and signed Pre-Exercise Validation (COMMEX) reports confirming systems are communicating properly.
  • Support training audience with exercise technical planning, network architecture, and Technical Integration Working Groups (TIWG). DELIVERABLE: Network Architecture Diagrams & TIWG Artifacts: System topologies (e.g., Visio diagrams of data flows), TIWG slide decks, published meeting minutes, and Technical Exercise Support Plans (ESPs).
  • In conjunction with MTC Network Engineer, coordinate technical integration requirements. DELIVERABLE: Port, Protocol, and Service Management (PPSM) & Firewall Requests: Submit documented technical requirements matrices, submitted firewall exception requests, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to COR as required for integration.
  • Provide network support for MEDCoE student and distributed training events. DELIVERABLE: Helpdesk Ticket Logs & Uptime Reports: Weekly or monthly logs of technical support tickets resolved during MEDCoE events, including system availability/uptime metrics.
  • Manage MCIS systems, update systems as required. DELIVERABLE: Configuration Management (CM) Logs & Patch Reports: Software Baseline Documents, version control trackers, and patching logs detailing when systems were updated to the latest Army baseline (e.g., IAVA/STIG compliance logs). Submit digital copy to COR monthly or post patching cycle.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues with MCIS and related software. DELIVERABLE: Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Reports & Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs): Written technical summaries of major outages with corrective actions taken and troubleshooting SOPs generated for recurring issues.
  • Provide expertise in simulation stimulation for MCIS using Army Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVC-G) Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS).

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Possess a strong understanding of communications support to US Army operations and training; US Army simulations architectures and capabilities; US Army Regulations and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification (minimum).
  • Minimum 4 years' experience with network architecture design and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Network Management or related field
  • Military service with experience in areas like those listed under required qualifications.
  • Familiarity with US Army training, operations, TADSS, and mission command information systems (MCIS)
  • Military service in Signal/Communications/Cyber unit and/or functional areas.
