Description: Our client is currently seeking a Datacenter Network SME
Job Responsibilities:
Lead deployment, commissioning, and testing of optical and packet networking platforms (Ciena 6500/5400/8700 or ADVA FSP series).
Execute complex network migrations and in-service upgrades with zero customer-impact.
Configure and manage network management systems (NMS) for optical and IP infrastructure.
Support design and implementation of DWDM/CWDM optical transport solutions.
Serve as a senior escalation engineer for troubleshooting and resolving advanced network or transport issues.
Utilize deep expertise in DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, and Ethernet technologies.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of network solutions.
Leverage Linux, Python, or SQL (where applicable) to support automation or analytics tasks.
Provide detailed documentation, change plans, and technical reports as needed.
Must Have / Required:
Strong hands-on experience with optical networking equipment (Ciena 6500 preferred OR ADVA FSP platforms).
Knowledge of Ciena Site Manager and/or equivalent field deployment tools.
Expert-level understanding of routing & switching - CCNP or CCIE mandatory.
Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, and IP routing fundamentals.
Proven background in optical transport technologies (DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH).
Experience performing live migrations/upgrades in production environments.
Strong understanding of Ethernet, IP, SyncE, and IEEE 1588v2 timing protocols.
Excellent communication skills and experience supporting telecom or datacenter networks.
Telecom/Network industry background is essential.
