ROLE SUMMARY
The Billing and Revenue Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cash flow performance for project based work. This position partners closely with project management, finance, and accounting teams to ensure all billings and revenue are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 standards.
In this role, you will oversee billing cycles, apply revenue recognition rules, and support monthly and quarterly close activities. You will work within Oracle Financials and Project Accounting to reconcile balances, resolve discrepancies, and provide reliable financial insights that support leadership decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices through Oracle Project Accounting in accordance with contract terms
• Validate project setup, funding limits, billing rules, and milestones prior to invoice generation
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies and questions
• Maintain complete and accurate billing documentation supporting monthly and quarterly close
• Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition rules to project based contracts and ensure proper revenue timing
• Reconcile billed, unbilled, and deferred revenue during close cycles
• Support audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis related to revenue
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to strengthen billing and revenue processes
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• 3 or more years of experience in billing, revenue accounting, or project accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Hands on experience with Oracle Financials, including Project Accounting and Accounts Receivable
• Working knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross functional environments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• On site position, four days per week Monday through Thursday
• Location is the Sugar Land, Texas office
