Job Description:
This position is designed for a skilled professional to analyze and map OTC financial products within the trade surveillance framework, with a strong focus on implementing and supporting the underlying technology. The role requires a deep understanding of OTC instruments, including derivatives, swaps, FX, commodities, and equities, as well as expertise in trade surveillance systems and data analysis tools. The analyst will work closely with technology teams to design, implement, and maintain surveillance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities are multifaceted, reflecting the intersection of business analysis, technology implementation, and trade surveillance for OTC products:
- Analyze and Map OTC Products: Conduct detailed analysis to map OTC financial products, ensuring comprehensive coverage within trade surveillance systems. This includes understanding the relationships between derivatives, swaps, FX, commodities, and equities
- Technology Implementation: This involves completing technology on-boarding processes for a Trade Surveillance solution and providing guidance and support for company projects and initiatives.
- Business Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, including compliance, legal, operations, and technology teams, to document and understand business requirements for trade surveillance, translating them into technical specifications.
- System Design and Testing: Participate in the design of surveillance systems, formulate testing approaches, develop test plans and cases, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure functionality and compliance before deployment.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform in-depth data analysis using SQL and other tools like Tableau or Power BI to identify trends, anomalies, and potential compliance breaches in OTC trading data. Develop reports and dashboards for senior management to support decision-making and regulatory reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance trade surveillance processes through technological innovations and system improvements, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for trade surveillance processes, systems, and OTC product mappings, ensuring accessibility for all relevant stakeholders.
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to business users on trade surveillance systems and processes, ensuring effective adoption and usage.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, operations, and technology, to ensure seamless integration of surveillance solutions and alignment with organizational goals, including regular updates to senior stakeholders and strong stakeholder management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services industry, with a focus on trade surveillance, compliance, and capital markets
- Deep understanding of OTC financial products, including derivatives, Fixed Income, Swaps, FX, commodities, and equities, with experience in their trading and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of trade surveillance systems and tools, such as Trading Hub, Actimize, SMARTS, or similar platforms, with hands-on experience in implementation and support.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis tools like Tableau or Power BI, essential for data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies, enhancing efficiency in system development and deployment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to trade surveillance.
- Understanding of trade surveillance regulations and practices is highly desirable, enhancing the ability to deliver compliant solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
