Global Lead – Infrastructure Cyber Resilience & Data Protection

Position Overview
We are seeking a Global Lead – Infrastructure Cyber Resilience & Data Protection to own the global strategy, architecture, engineering standards, and service performance for enterprise infrastructure resilience and data protection.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for protecting business-critical data and enabling reliable recovery across on-premises infrastructure and hybrid multicloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in enterprise backup, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and data protection platforms, with hands-on experience with technologies such as Veritas NetBackup, Rubrik, and Cohesity.
The successful candidate will lead global engineering teams, establish technical standards, drive recovery readiness, manage strategic vendors, and work closely with infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity, and business continuity teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the global infrastructure cyber resilience, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection strategy and roadmap.
- Lead the architecture, engineering, implementation, and operational support of enterprise data protection platforms.
- Establish global engineering standards, protection policies, recovery patterns, and operational procedures.
- Ensure reliable backup coverage, recovery readiness, infrastructure resilience, and lifecycle management across the enterprise.
- Lead and mentor globally distributed infrastructure/data protection engineers and coordinate regional teams and service providers.
- Drive technical direction for hybrid cloud, on-premises, and geographically distributed infrastructure environments.
- Lead recovery planning, testing, validation, and technical recovery activities during major incidents.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Architecture, Business Continuity, and Application teams to translate resilience requirements into operational capabilities.
- Define and monitor service-level metrics, protection coverage, recovery test results, remediation plans, and operational performance.
- Manage technology vendors, licensing, capacity planning, service providers, and strategic platform investments.
- Identify infrastructure protection gaps and communicate technical risks, remediation priorities, and investment requirements to senior leadership.
- Maintain hands-on involvement in complex architecture, implementations, troubleshooting, recovery exercises, and critical incidents.
- Drive automation, platform simplification, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the domain.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, data protection, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, or cyber resilience.
- Proven experience owning or leading an enterprise data protection, disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, or backup function.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms such as:
- Veritas NetBackup
- Rubrik
- Cohesity
- Strong understanding of backup architecture, disaster recovery, recovery point objectives (RPO), recovery time objectives (RTO), replication, recovery validation, and cyber recovery.
- Experience designing and operating data protection solutions across on-premises and hybrid multicloud environments.
- Experience with geographically distributed or highly available infrastructure environments, including active-active architectures.
- Proven experience leading globally distributed engineering teams and coordinating regional teams, vendors, and managed service providers.
- Experience leading technical recovery exercises and infrastructure recovery during major incidents.
- Strong troubleshooting and hands-on technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with vendor management, capacity planning, licensing, budgeting, and technology roadmaps.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical risks, priorities, and investment requirements to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native backup and recovery architectures across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of cyber recovery, ransomware resilience, immutable backups, air-gapped recovery, and zero-trust principles.
- Experience integrating data protection platforms with enterprise cybersecurity and incident response processes.
- Knowledge of automation and infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Experience working with large global enterprises and geographically distributed infrastructure.
- Relevant certifications in backup, cloud, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, or infrastructure technologies are a plus.
