Position : Principal F5 Engineer

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced PRINCIPAL F5 ENGINEER responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise load balancing and network infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with **F5 BIG-IP technologies including LTM and GTM, DNS management, SSL certificate administration, and troubleshooting complex network issues in enterprise environments. The role requires collaboration with application teams, security teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, performance, and secure application delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain load balancing solutions using **F5 BIG-IP platforms including LTM, GTM, and APM.
  • Configure and manage virtual servers, pools, nodes, monitors, profiles, and iRules.
  • Perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance of F5 devices to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Manage SSL certificate lifecycle including installation, renewal, and troubleshooting using platforms such as **Venafi.
  • Administer DNS services and IP management using tools like **Infoblox.
  • Troubleshoot network and application connectivity issues using diagnostic tools such as **Wireshark and **TCPdump.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.
  • Support firewall and security infrastructure including **Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS and Fortinet platforms.
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible to streamline operational tasks.
  • Provide operational support for production environments and resolve high-priority incidents.
  • Work with application teams to design scalable and highly available application delivery architectures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on F5 technologies.
  • Strong experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM, GTM, and load balancing concepts.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and SSL/TLS.
  • Experience managing SSL certificates and DNS environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with network analysis tools.
  • Experience with enterprise firewall platforms and security controls.
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with cloud networking in **Amazon Web Services, **Microsoft Azure, or **Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible or PowerShell.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, Security+, or F5 Certified Administrator.
