Job Summary (Sr. Technical Architect – Con Edison, Manhattan, N.Y.)
- Lead Architecture & Design: Lead end-to-end architecture, integration strategy, and technical governance for an AI-powered enterprise platform using .NET, Angular, Azure, and Azure OpenAI.
- Hands-on Leadership: Provide approx. 30% hands-on work, including proofs of concept, reference implementations, architecture validation, and code reviews.
- AI & Integration Expertise: Architect solutions involving LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, Azure services, and integrations with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and other enterprise systems.
- Define & Enforce Standards: Establish coding, architecture, security, scalability, AI governance, accessibility, and automated quality gates.
- Solution Design: Design for performance, high availability, disaster recovery, cost optimization, security, and resilience.
- Documentation: Create and maintain architecture documents, diagrams, decision records, and reference implementations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor developers, lead code reviews, enforce pull-request quality gates, and participate in technical interviews.
- DevOps Pipeline: Design Azure DevOps pipeline strategies, including CI/CD, static analysis, automated testing, security scans, and regression testing.
- Technical Debt Management: Identify and recommend plans for technical debt paydown and lead root-cause analysis for design issues.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present architecture decisions and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
- Required Experience: 12+ years in software development (5+ as architect), production experience with .NET, Angular, Azure, AI integrations, microservices, REST APIs, and enterprise security practices.
- Preferred Experience: Utilities/energy industry background, legacy modernization, ServiceNow, DevOps automation, AI coding assistants, and advanced cloud/security certifications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced Azure/cloud/architecture certifications preferred.
- Success Metrics: Timely publication and adoption of standards, operational delivery pipelines with quality gates, successful integrations, and active technical debt management.
