Project Manager

Our government client is looking for an experienced Project Manager on a hybrid 12+ months renewable contract role in Richmond, VA.
Position – Project Manager
The agency is seeking a senior technical Project Manager to manage and deliver complex IT Project(s) with multiple teams and work streams coordinated to an aggressive delivery schedule. 
PMP CERTIFICATION REQUIRED with experience in Scaled Agile environment, VITA certification is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Project Manager is responsible for the outcome of the assigned projects. The Project Manager leads the team through the Commonwealth Standard for Project Management for successful completion of the project phases:

• Preselect
• Initiation 
• Planning
• Execution and Control
• Closeout. 

1. Serve as a hands-on technical project manager with development staff and business groups
2. Coordinate and communicate with Information Technology Division management and staff to coordinate work staff and resourcing.
3. Communicate timelines and expectations to technical and business staff
4. Facilitate multi-functional technical team collaboration.
5. Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors in the execution of projects, including contract management, and work with procurement office(s).
6. Adhere to VDOT and VITA project management practices and governance requirements.
7. Coordinate with VDOT and VITA project management offices.
8. Maintain project budget, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, and status and disseminate information to team members and customers as defined in the communication plan.
9. Ensure documentation of requirements and use cases, facilitate design workshops for assigned project.
10. Ensure preparation of test objectives, test plans and test cases for assigned project.
11. Provide the management of project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery.
12. Define, measure, and clearly communicate progress with project metrics.
13. Support system and application training efforts.

• 10 years of Experience managing large MultiStream projects valued at $10M or greater Required
• 10 years of Experience in IT infrastructure delivery (Networking, physical plant, vendor management, site provisioning) Required
• 10 years of Experience in both Scaled Agile and Waterfall Project Management Required
• PMP Certification Required
• VITA Certification Highly desired
• Agile Scrum Master Certification Desired
• SAFe® Scrum Master Certification Desired
• 10 years of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server) Required
• 10 years of Experience managing projects with high visibility and high stakes Required
• 10 years of Experience managing projects that had to coordinate with at least one external team Required
• 10 years of Experience managing a project as part of a larger program and under PMO governance Required
• 4 years of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems, Project Management or Finance/Business Required
