The Role: Senior Backend Engineer

The engineering team powers a modern mortgage servicing platform that handles billions of dollars at scale. You will design and build robust, extensible backend systems capable of adapting to evolving federal, state, and agency regulations.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Product and Design to define and deliver high-quality customer experiences while building infrastructure that is scalable, compliant, and future-ready for AI.

What You’ll Do

Design and build scalable backend systems from scratch

Develop infrastructure to handle evolving regulatory requirements

Work on complex financial workflows processing billions in transactions

Collaborate cross-functionally to balance technical and product needs

Learn new technologies quickly and apply them to challenging problems

Contribute to a high-performance engineering culture

Required Qualifications

4–6 years of software engineering experience in the United States

Backend-focused engineer (frontend-only profiles will not be considered)

Experience building quality software applications at scale

Experience at a well-known, high-growth tech startup (preferably fintech)

Demonstrated promotions or career progression (Senior title or above preferred)

Strong communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills

Experience building scalable systems with fast turnaround

Experience with one or more of:

Web application development

Mobile application development

Large-scale distributed systems

Infrastructure management

Strong time management skills in fast-paced startup environments

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
