Location: Lansing, Michigan
Work Arrangement: Hybrid Onsite Monday and Tuesday (2 days per week)
Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on business needs
Interview Process: 30-minute virtual interview via MS Teams (video required)

Important Submission Requirements

• Candidates are not required to be local to Lansing, provided they can follow the hybrid schedule from the beginning.

• Remote-only arrangements are not available.

• Candidates must be available to work onsite every Monday and Tuesday. This requirement is non-negotiable.

• Candidates must join the virtual interview using a laptop and be prepared to share their screen if requested.

• A candidate photograph/screenshot will be required for the interview.

• A vendor representative must be present at the beginning of the virtual interview to validate the candidate.

Job Description

The Programmer 3 performs specialized programming and technical work for website and internet development in a collaborative environment using industry-standard technologies and procedures.

The position works under limited supervision and requires considerable initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to manage complex programming tasks.

• 6+ years of Angular development experience.

• 6+ years of experience with Azure DevOps.

• 6+ years of experience with .NET technologies.

• 6+ years of experience with cloud AWS migration.

• Strong experience working within process-oriented Agile methodologies.

• Proven experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Experience with Playwright for integration testing.

• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the Business Analyst to present gathered information to the Project Review Board, Project Sponsors, project workgroups, and Technical Review Board during project review meetings.

• Provide clarification and answer questions during project discussions and reviews.

• Create, update, and maintain system and IT program documentation, including system and functional specifications.

• Draft technical models that capture data element requirements and design data elements to meet application needs.

• Design and develop reusable software code based on approved architecture and design, while complying with security (SADLC) and applicable standards, policies, and procedures.

• Mitigate application-level security risks and remediate vulnerabilities as soon as they are identified.

• Participate in and provide input for structured walkthroughs, code reviews, and stage exits.

• Follow configuration management procedures established by the development team.

• Follow change management procedures and provide input into change management execution.

• Support project documentation requirements by following System Engineering SUITE standards for Agile and Traditional methodologies, as applicable.

• Perform application unit, string, and integrated testing to ensure compliance with business and technical requirements.

• Develop system/module-level test scripts, test plans, and test cases to support unit, string, and integrated system testing.

• Document identified problems, analyze root causes, and prepare root cause analysis reports.

• Develop user manuals and conduct user training as necessary.

• Evaluate modification and enhancement requests to determine their impact on existing projects and applications.

• Independently plan and accomplish goals while handling complicated tasks with creativity and sound judgment.

• Demonstrate familiarity with PowerApps.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of Angular development experience.

• 6+ years of experience with Azure DevOps.

• 6+ years of experience with .NET technologies.

• 6+ years of experience with cloud AWS migration.

• Strong experience working within process-oriented Agile methodologies.

• Proven experience with Test-Driven Development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Extensive knowledge of advanced principles, theories, techniques, and methods used in the development and design of web applications and standalone applications.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team using Agile and/or traditional project management methodologies.

• Ability to participate in project review meetings and project workgroups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Playwright for integration testing.

Additional Notes

• The role involves working in a unique environment managing a small portfolio of contracts, including transitioning agreements into formal contracts.

• The candidate will work in a .NET and Angular application environment, with additional exposure to multiple batch job processes.

• The team consists of approximately 10 members.

• The position requires direct interaction with stakeholders, with an emphasis on strong communication and ownership.

• The ideal candidate should be self-sufficient, work with minimal oversight, and independently drive tasks to completion.
