Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Pharmaceutical Domain Expert with hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI to join our team.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, drug discovery and development, clinical research, regulatory affairs, and pharmaceutical operations, along with an understanding of how AI-driven solutions can transform pharma processes.

The candidate will work closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to identify business challenges, define AI use cases, validate AI-generated outputs, and develop innovative AI-powered solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical domain expertise to AI/ML and Generative AI projects.
• Identify and evaluate AI use cases across pharmaceutical research, drug discovery, clinical trials, and drug development.
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and business teams to translate pharma business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support the development and validation of AI-powered applications, including Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG-based systems, and AI agents.
• Review and validate AI-generated pharmaceutical content for scientific accuracy, relevance, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide domain knowledge for training, fine-tuning, and evaluating AI/ML models.
• Work with pharmaceutical datasets, scientific literature, clinical trial data, drug databases, and regulatory documentation.
• Ensure AI solutions align with pharmaceutical industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for automation using AI in pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, clinical operations, and medical affairs.
• Define domain-specific evaluation criteria, test scenarios, and quality benchmarks for AI solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to document business requirements, workflows, use cases, and functional specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, or healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical processes and industry workflows.
• Practical understanding of AI, Machine Learning, NLP, and Generative AI technologies.
• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, RAG, and AI-powered automation.
• Experience working with scientific literature, clinical datasets, drug information, and pharmaceutical documentation.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs from a pharmaceutical and scientific perspective.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

• Generative AI and LLM-based applications.
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Prompt Engineering and AI Model Evaluation.
• Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• AI agents and workflow automation.
• Python and SQL (good to have).
• Knowledge of tools such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, or similar AI platforms.

Pharma Domain Expertise

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will be preferred:

• Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety.
• Regulatory Affairs and Compliance.
• Medical Writing and Medical Information.
• Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.

• Strong pharmaceutical research and analytical capabilities.
• Understanding of AI limitations, hallucinations, and model validation.
• Ability to work with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving and business process analysis skills.
