Description
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join our SAP Tech COE Team (SAP Technology Center of Excellence). In this role, you will ensure the stability, availability, and optimal performance of critical SAP financial systems 24x7. You will be responsible for maintaining a robust SAP landscape and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless operations.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP application components (ECC, BW, Portal, SolMan, GRC, SLT, etc.) and strong administration skills to support a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure system availability and proactively monitor all SAP applications across the landscape.
Perform daily health checks, production monitoring, and reporting.
Monitor and troubleshoot batch job failures.
Maintain and patch SAP Java applications; resolve technical issues.
Provide development and maintenance support for all SAP components.
Collaborate with functional and infrastructure teams to resolve technical challenges.
Deliver error-free Basis support services and manage incidents/problems effectively.
Handle critical production issues, including triage calls and root cause analysis (RCA).
Manage transport processes and CHARM for changing deployments.
Conduct weekly EWA analysis and reporting.
Review and apply SAP high-risk vulnerability notes proactively.
Support annual disaster recovery exercises for SAP systems.
Capture and analyze key system monitoring metrics.
Prepare systems for scheduled maintenance and maintain detailed documentation.
Build strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Certifications: SAP Basis certification preferred.
Experience: 10-15 years in SAP Basis administration.
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with SAP ABAP, Java stack, and SAP HANA database administration.
Expertise in SAP modules: ECC, BI, BPC, SLT, PO, CE, GRC, Enterprise Portals, SolMan 7.2.
Proficiency in monitoring tools: Solution Manager, Wily, and enterprise tools like SiteScope.
Strong troubleshooting skills for transport failures, memory dumps, and workload analysis.
Experience with system refresh, migration, support pack upgrades, and patch updates using SUM.
Familiarity with TMS configuration, CHARM process, and EWA setup.
OS experience: AIX or Linux.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
