POSITION SUMMARY

The Advanced Law Enforcement Tactics Instructor will provide expert instruction, curriculum support, and scenario-based training for CBP/AMO tactical, survival, firearms, and emergency medical training. This role prepares AMO personnel for aviation, maritime, law enforcement, water survival, active threat, and field operational environments.

DUTIES

·        Serve as the Instructor for medical courses, providing expert instruction in both classroom settings and scenario-based training sessions (SBTs) in accordance with CBP/AMO medical policies and safety standards.

·        Instruct advanced law enforcement tactics, firearms proficiency, tactical decision-making, defensive preparedness, CPR/trauma response, and emergency medical skills.

·        Lead advanced firearms instruction, including live-fire range operations, safety protocols, and tactical marksmanship for handgun and long gun applications.

·        Provide wilderness and maritime/water survival training, including emergency signaling, shelter building, navigation, and resource management.

·        Develop, revise, and maintain lesson plans, presentations, scenarios, practical exercises, exams, guides, and training aids.

·        Ensure student safety, maintain equipment/inventory, provide individual and group feedback, and support accreditation-related documentation when applicable.

·        Conduct classroom and field training exercises in various environments.

·        Support operational training logistics, including role players, rescue divers, lifeguards, and command room coordination as required.

·        Assist with the Command Room during the day shift. Open gate, answer phone, log launches, communicate with Air and Marine Operations Center (AMOC), log visitors, and coordinate with hangars.

·        Stay current with best practices, certificates, and tactical/medical techniques.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        At least 2 years of relevant experience in advanced tactical law enforcement instruction.

·        Knowledge of law enforcement tactics, firearms safety, live-fire range operations, tactical medicine, EMT/CPR/trauma response, survival training, and scenario-based training.

·        Familiarity with CBP/AMO training policies, accreditation standards, student evaluation, safety protocols, and training equipment accountability.
