Position Overview - We are seeking a Senior Virtualization Engineer to design, implement, administer, monitor, and support enterprise VMware and virtual infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and VMware Aria Operations Suite, along with experience in virtual networking, infrastructure security, automation, and fault-tolerant architecture. The engineer will support enterprise virtualization, performance and capacity management, high availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation.
Position Responsibilities
· Design, implement, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise VMware virtual infrastructure.
· Administer and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi environments.
· Administer and monitor VMware Aria Operations Suite, including performance, capacity, health, and availability monitoring.
· Troubleshoot complex VMware compute, networking, storage, performance, and availability issues.
· Design and support highly available and fault-tolerant virtual infrastructure with multi-region redundancy.
· Develop and maintain failover, recovery, and business continuity strategies for virtual environments.
· Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking, switching, firewall policies, and connectivity.
· Support VMware connectivity to SAN/NAS storage and troubleshoot HBA, multipathing, and datastore issues. Support Windows and Linux virtual server environments.
· Support Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Tanzu, and containerized workloads where required.
· Identify infrastructure vulnerabilities and risks and recommend appropriate remediation.
· Implement security controls including encryption, RBAC, MFA, identity management, and secure infrastructure configurations.
· Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and automation solutions using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
· Develop operational monitoring, health checks, service-level metrics, and capacity/performance reports.
· Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, implementations, proof-of-concepts, and technology evaluations.
· Coordinate with storage, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, application, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex issues.
· Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, operational procedures, and recovery documentation.
· Participate in disaster recovery exercises, failover/failback activities, and on-call support.
Position Requirements
· Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
· 8+ years of enterprise virtualization/infrastructure engineering experience.
· Deep hands-on experience with VMware technologies is required.
· Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
· In-depth experience with VMware Aria Operations Suite, preferably version 9.
· Experience designing fault-tolerant systems with multi-region redundancy and defined failover strategies.
· Strong knowledge of virtual networking, switching, and firewall management.
· Experience with SAN/NAS storage and VMware storage connectivity.
· Experience with Windows and/or Linux server infrastructure.
· Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, Docker, or other container technologies is preferred.
· Strong understanding of infrastructure security, threat modeling, encryption, RBAC, and MFA.
· Experience with Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code is required.
· Experience with Dell/HPE server and blade infrastructure is preferred.
· Experience with Cisco/Dell chassis networking and storage switching is a plus.
