Summary

About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.

This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths - values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

What You Will Be Doing:

This position will support the design, build, and optimization of Helion's high volume Capacitor Bank manufacturing facility. The role will work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Design, Controls, Quality and Supply Chain to remove waste, optimize layout, and support a rapid production ramp. This role will report to our Factory Development Manager at our Everett, WA office.

You Will:
  • Lead the development of factory layouts for new manufacturing lines, major expansions, and system reconfigurations to maximize efficiency and scalability
  • Design and optimize production lines, workstations, and material flow strategies to support high-volume, high-performance manufacturing
  • Own and maintain the factory commissioning schedule, ensuring alignment with production milestones
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, production, design, facilities, and materials teams to bring factory designs and expansion projects from concept to reality
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, drive continuous improvement, and enhance throughput and operational performance
  • Optimize end-to-end material flow using Just-In-Time production principles to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize factory floor space

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing (automotive, aerospace, electronics, or similar)
  • Experience in 2D/3D layout design, factory and production line layouts
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or similar)
