Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina is seeking a Principal Engineer to serve as the functional domain expert for Siemens Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) OpCenter EXDS Logistics. This strategic role bridges business requirements with system capabilities to optimize inbound/outbound logistics, warehouse management, and inventory operations at the battery plant.
This individual will lead process mapping, backlog management, and implementation guidance while ensuring end-user adoption through training and change management support.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor''s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in MES/LES environments with 5+ years working with Siemens OpCenter (preferably EXDS)
• Demonstrated expertise in logistics operations including inbound/outbound processes, warehouse management, and inventory control
• Strong ability to build and manage a product backlog and author detailed user stories
• Experience acting as a business-IT liaison in Agile delivery teams
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with EXDS Logistics module specifically in automotive or battery manufacturing
• Exposure to Logistics Execution Systems (LES) in addition to MES platforms
• SAFe or Scrum certification
• Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) and Lean logistics principles
Roles & Responsibilities
• Act as the primary functional domain expert for Siemens MOM OpCenter EXDS Logistics
• Lead process mapping workshops with manufacturing and logistics stakeholders to identify gaps and translate requirements into functional specifications
• Provide implementation guidance to the development team based on deep knowledge of OpCenter EXDS capabilities
• Build and maintain a detailed product backlog in Jira, ensuring user stories and epics are refined and tied to measurable business value
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives based on operational impact and feasibility
• Act as the primary liaison between business users, IT teams, and development squads
• Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
• Stay current with Siemens OpCenter EXDS capabilities and broader MES/LES industry trends
• Drive end-user adoption through training plans, user guides, and hands-on coaching
Base Salary Range : $140,000 to $180,000 Per Annum
