NetBackup Engineer with hands-on experience in
Rubrik.
This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise backup and recovery environments. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in Veritas NetBackup, familiarity with Rubrik's cloud data management platform, and a strong understanding of backup best practices across hybrid-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and administer Veritas NetBackup environments supporting enterprise-scale workloads.
- Manage, configure, and support Rubrik systems across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve backup/restore failures to ensure data protection SLA compliance.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, patching, and health checks for backup infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain backup policies, retention schedules, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Integrate backup solutions with virtualized and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Optimize backup performance and storage utilization across systems.
- Assist with DR planning, testing, and execution.
- Document configurations, procedures, and environment architectures.
- Collaborate with storage, server, and security teams to ensure holistic data protection.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Veritas NetBackup in an enterprise environment.
- Professional experience implementing and supporting Rubrik cloud data management solutions.
- Strong knowledge of backup concepts: deduplication, replication, retention, recovery workflows, etc.
- Experience with enterprise storage platforms (Pure, NetApp, Dell EMC, etc.).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
- Understanding of Linux and Windows OS administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and cloud-based backup strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Veritas NetBackup certification (VCS-DBA or VCS-AD).
- Experience automating backup tasks using PowerShell, Python, or API integrations.
- Rubrik RCS certification or prior work with Rubrik APIs.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies and business continuity planning.
- Experience with security and compliance frameworks related to data protection.
