RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking a Service Desk Engineer I to join a growing IT organization in Lake Wales, FL that is focused on delivering exceptional support to internal users. This role is ideal for an early-career IT professional who is customer-focused, eager to learn, and comfortable troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues in a fast-paced environment. The Service Desk Engineer I serves as a first point of contact for technical incidents, providing courteous, professional support while diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues in alignment with IT standards, physical safety requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver excellent customer service by professionally guiding internal users through technical issues and resolutions
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and technology-related incidents, implementing solutions under guidance from senior team members or management
* Apply technical knowledge to resolve incidents efficiently, escalating issues as needed to ensure adherence to IT, safety, and cybersecurity standards
* Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to critical incidents during off-hours when scheduled (typically one week at a time)
* Create and maintain technical documentation for end users and IT staff
* Support IT operations in environments that may require strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
REQUIREMENTS:
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
* Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
The role requires the ability to safely perform tasks that may include lifting, reaching, bending, walking, standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, typing, speaking, reading (digital and printed materials), and hearing safety-related alerts. Candidates must be able to perform duties while wearing PPE such as steel-toe boots, gloves, goggles, vests, hearing protection, hard hats, and other required safety equipment in potentially hazardous environments, following all safety guidelines.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
