Mainframe MMIS QA/Test Analyst

Location: 100% Remote (Columbia, SC Project)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Interview Process: 1 Round MS Teams
Government Experience: Required

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe MMIS QA/Test Analyst to support federally and state-mandated enhancements to the South Carolina Medicaid system. This role is strictly focused on Quality Assurance and Testing - not development, business analysis, or project management.

The selected candidate will work collaboratively with state agencies and technical teams to validate system changes within Medicaid systems.

Required Experience (Ranked by Importance)

4+ years of Mainframe experience
4+ years of COBOL experience
4+ years of JCL experience
4+ years of experience creating and executing test scenarios
4+ years of healthcare claims processing experience
Strong QA/Testing background (hands-on testing experience is mandatory)
Prior Government project experience (required)
Extensive MMIS (Medicaid Management Information Systems) experience (required)

Preferred Skills

Experience with Medicaid systems
Experience with Serena ChangeMan
Experience with SQL
Experience with CA-ADS
Experience creating technical documentation

Scope of Work

This project supports federally and state-mandated updates to South Carolina's Medicaid systems. Responsibilities include:

Performing Quality Assurance (QA) and Business Interface Testing (BI/UA)
Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Testing software code changes related to Medicaid data systems
Conducting testing with internal users, external healthcare providers, and trading partners
Coordinating with multiple state agencies and internal subsystems

Daily Responsibilities

Create detailed test scenarios and test cases
Execute test plans and document results
Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual results
Work with stakeholders to resolve defects
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts
Contribute to business, process, and technical documentation
Collaborate with Clemson staff and other contracted team members
Communicate effectively (written and verbal)

Ideal Candidate Profile

Strong QA professional with hands-on mainframe testing experience
Deep understanding of MMIS and Medicaid environments
Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving government environments
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong communicator and team collaborato
