Senior Prisma SD-WAN Engineer (ION Deployment Lead)

We are seeking a Senior Prisma SD-WAN Engineer with deep expertise in Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN (CloudGenix) and ION devices. This role will lead the design, deployment, and implementation of SD-WAN solutions across enterprise environments, serving as both a hands-on engineer and technical lead for the SD-WAN workstream.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end deployment of Prisma SD-WAN, with a strong focus on ION device implementation (ION 1000, 3000 series, etc.)
Serve as the technical lead for SD-WAN deployments, owning delivery from design through production rollout
Perform device staging, provisioning, onboarding, and turn-up of ION devices across multiple sites
Design and implement:
Application-aware routing and policies
Path selection and traffic steering
QoS and performance optimization
Integrate Prisma SD-WAN with:
Existing WAN/MPLS/Internet circuits
Prisma Access / cloud security stack (if applicable)
Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and LAN infrastructure
Lead site migration activities, including cutovers from legacy WAN to SD-WAN
Troubleshoot complex issues related to:
Underlay/overlay connectivity
ION device performance and tunnels
Policy and application behavior
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers on the team
Interface with stakeholders, vendors, and customers to drive successful outcomes
Develop documentation, runbooks, and deployment standards
Required Qualifications:
5–8+ years of experience in network engineering / WAN / SD-WAN
Hands-on experience deploying Prisma SD-WAN (CloudGenix) in production environments
Strong experience with ION devices (deployment, configuration, troubleshooting)
Deep understanding of:
SD-WAN architecture (underlay/overlay, control/data plane)
Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, static routing)
WAN technologies (MPLS, broadband, LTE)
Proven ability to lead implementations or workstreams
Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed enterprise networks
