Job Title: DataStage Developer Server to Parallel Job Migration (IBM Migration Tool)
Location: New York City, NY (Onsite/Hybrid as required)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced DataStage Developer with strong expertise in server-to-parallel job migration using the IBM Migration Tool. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing ETL solutions within IBM DataStage, with a proven track record of successful migration projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform migration of existing DataStage Server jobs to Parallel jobs using the IBM Migration Tool.
- Analyze, optimize, and refactor ETL workflows to ensure performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve migration and data integration issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Conduct unit testing, validation, and performance tuning for migrated jobs.
- Prepare technical documentation for migrated ETL processes.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in ETL design, coding standards, and performance tuning.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage (Server & Parallel editions).
- Strong expertise in DataStage server-to-parallel job migration.
- Experience using the IBM Migration Tool.
- Solid knowledge of ETL concepts, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle, DB2, or other relational databases.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux scripting for job scheduling and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in large-scale data integration projects.
- Exposure to cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality processes.
