Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer (Industrial Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to serve as a technical pillar within our industrial design team. In this role, you will perform complex structural analysis and design for large-scale, advanced manufacturing and general industrial facilities. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of structural delivery-from conceptual design and seismic analysis to interdisciplinary coordination and final modeling. This position offers significant autonomy and requires a leader capable of serving as a primary Structural Lead for medium-sized projects or a core technical lead for major enterprise initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Engineering & Analysis
Autonomous Design: Competently perform all conventional and complex aspects of structural analysis and design with little to no supervision.
Seismic & Lateral Expertise: Apply expert knowledge of lateral analysis (wind and seismic) in strict accordance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC provisions.
Software Mastery: Utilize advanced structural analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam to develop and validate traditional steel and concrete structures.
Quality & Technical Oversight
Rigorous QA/QC: Maintain a high level of attention to detail by checking your own work and performing peer calculation reviews for other engineers to ensure code compliance and safety.
Technical Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality excellence.
Project Leadership & Ownership
Scope Management: Take full ownership of assigned structural scopes, including the forecasting of effort, budget management, and schedule adherence.
Strategic Coordination: Partner with multidisciplinary leads (Mechanical, Electrical, Process) to ensure structural designs integrate seamlessly with complex facility requirements.
Innovation: Proactively advance workflows and tools within the structural discipline, embracing emerging technologies and BIM-driven design.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis (Master's degree preferred).
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE/PEng) is required; Structural Engineer (SE) license is highly desired.
Experience:
oMinimum of 10 years in structural engineering, specifically with industrial or advanced facility projects.
oProven proficiency with US building codes including seismic provisions.
Core Skills:
oStrong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder management.
oIndependent problem-solving skills with the sound judgment to escalate complex issues when necessary.
Logistics: Ability to provide reliable internet service to support remote/hybrid project performance requirements.
